National
Institutes of Health Building No. 32 - Bethesda, Maryland
Project Details
WFT Engineering provided mechanical, plumbing, and electrical
designs for the expansion of a microbiology facility. The
addition included space for scientists and their support staff
in an open concept, modular laboratory design. The scope of
work included detailed systems analysis to determine the most
life cycle cost effective mechanical, plumbing, and electrical
systems for the building. The mechanical design included upgrades
to an existing central station air handling unit and steam
to hot water converters. The project also included the installation
of special exhaust systems and filtration systems for microscopy
rooms and tissue culture rooms as well as LAN wireways and
special electrical wiring.
